Originally founded in 1947, Icon operates from its headquarters in south-east London, supplemented by international offices and partners covering Europe, Africa, India, the Middle East and North America.
Icon defines, designs and delivers many customers’ environmental branding and live event requirements. Our brand is all about taking this proposition to the next level – being recognised as the trusted market leader helping organisations bring their own brands to life.
In 2008 we acquired event production and creative technology specialist MEI, which bought a whole new dimension to Icon's portfolio in terms of brand promotion and activation. In March 2011 we purchased event overlay and city dressing specialist the SLS Group. This development enables us to extend our offering beyond the arena to surrounding public spaces, as well as providing an equipment rental facility offering low-cost sustainable solutions in branding and wayfinding. Shortly after the SLS acquisition, Icon was purchased by the Chime Communications plc and now operates as part of its Sports Marketing Division.
Recent activities include:
- Completing a global re-brand programme for the Colt Communications Group - 74 offices in 14 countries
- Following the Colt re-brand, being awarded the staging and production of their annual conference and awards
- Starting work in earnest on the UEFA Euro 2012 Look, Wayfinding and Signage programme for Poland and the Ukraine
- Winning Best New Use of Wide Format Print Award for our work on the Aviva 'You Are the Big Picture' campaign at the inaugural Sign & Digital Awards
- Breaking the US event market for the first time with our work for Aberdeen Global Asset Management at the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia
