Bell Pottinger has appointed Paul O’Donoghue in the role of Director of Digital with a remit to lead the rapidly developing digital capabilities of the Group.
Previously Paul was the Managing Director of Green Cathedral Digital Marketing where he took the Cambridge and London based agency into the UK’s top 15 Digital Agencies. Most recently Paul oversaw the sale and acquisition of Green Cathedral to UK Advertising Agency, Golley Slater, where he managed the integration of the businesses in the position of Managing Director of Golley Slater Digital.
Kevin Murray, Chairman of Bell Pottinger Group said “To talk about digital as if it is still something new, or bolted on to your usual communications, is to fail to understand the new world of media. We believe in audience-centric planning, which puts digital at the heart of what we do. Paul’s role is to ensure we remain at the leading edge of communications, profitably.”
Bell Pottinger companies already provide clients with a wide range of digital services, from WebMapping to search engine optimisation, representing 13% of current revenues. Recently the Group launched Search Relations, Headed by Paul Mead, the first agency in the UK to specialise in communications and reputation management through search.
Paul O’Donoghue commented “The opportunity within Bell Pottinger is a very exciting challenge, as Public Relations and Communications businesses are experiencing an increase in demand for digital strategies from their clients. The digital opportunities in this sector are extremely diverse and leading edge as they have to be truly relevant and work within the overall communications strategy.”
