Bell Pottinger North appointed by prestigious private healthcare provider Oxford Radcliffe Private Healthcare

Thursday, 12 March 2009

Oxford Radcliffe Private Healthcare has appointed Bell Pottinger North to raise the profile of three key areas of treatment.

Alex Barnes, assistant director for private care, said the decision to invest in public relations for the first time was prompted by his belief that the market for private healthcare was likely to become even more competitive during the present credit crunch.

“Because of the prestige of the John Radcliffe NHS Trust and its consultants, our private patient facilities are currently operating at full capacity. However, we recognise that in the next twelve months there is a strong possibility that individuals and employers will cut back on private health insurance. It is therefore more important than ever that those individuals who continue to choose private treatment recognise the benefits of receiving care from a talented multi-disciplinary team, which has access to emergency teams and intensive care facilities on a 24/7 basis, should they be needed, unlike the majority of our competitors.

“We chose Bell Pottinger North because of their excellent work with the Oxford Fertility Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital, which has generated national and international editorial coverage since their appointment in November 2008.”

Bell Pottinger North director Vicki Baxter, who heads the healthcare team, will be working with account manager Peter Bredenkamp to deliver the PR campaign.

“Our brief is to focus initially on bariatric surgery for the treatment of obesity, specialist surgery for endometriosis and cosmetic treatments. It’s a great opportunity to work with some of the country’s leading consultants who are passionate about the work they do.”
