Consultancy’s medical device sector knowledge tips the balance
De Facto Communications, part of the Bell Pottinger Group, has been appointed by Sphere Medical to raise awareness of its real time blood chemistry monitoring technology among medical device manufacturers and anaesthetists working in critical care.
Sphere Medical’s patented technology has the scope to improve outcomes among critically ill patients by giving clinicians a far more accurate picture of each patient’s status. De Facto will aim to build Sphere’s reputation for producing life saving products through media targeted at the R&D Directors of the world’s leading medical device companies and the medical journals read by anaesthetists.
De Facto was selected after a four-way pitch on the basis of its deep understanding of the medical device and critical care markets, gained over the last 25 years. “It was obvious,” said Simon Kimber, Marketing Manager at Sphere Medical, “that De Facto had understood exactly what we needed to say and who we needed to target.”
In addition to media relations, De Facto will also be helping Sphere Medical with its digital marketing.
Strategic direction for the Sphere Medical account will be provided by Kevin Payne, co-founder of De Facto, with Hilary Latham, Associate Director, handling day-to-day activities.
