Bell Pottinger North has been appointed to help it build and manage the reputation of Manchester City Football Club chairman Dr Thaksin Shinawatra.
The Cheshire-based public relations consultancy advised the former Thai Prime Minister following his take-over of the club last summer. It has now been brought back in on a short tem contract to support him with UK media relations.
Bell Pottinger North director John Butters is leading the campaign, working closely with the chairman’s chief advisors.
“When Dr Thaksin bought Manchester City Football Club last summer he set out his goals for the next three years,” said Butters.
“It is an ambitious plan and our role is to ensure that the media and the fans understand the chairman’s vision.
“We will be helping Dr Thaksin put his side of the story across. This will reassure fans that the chairman is working hard with the board to ensure that his original objectives are met.”
