Welsh rugby has been boosted by the announcement that Invesco Perpetual has extended its sponsorship of international rugby for the forthcoming Autumn Series at the Millennium Stadium as managed and brokered by Essentially.

The renewed agreement sees Invesco Perpetual, one of the UK’s largest independent investment managers, enter into its sixth season as title sponsor of the competition which kicks off next month at the home of Welsh sport.

The Invesco Perpetual Series brings four exciting games to Cardiff ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2011 with Wales facing Australia on Saturday 6 November (14.30), South Africa on Saturday 13 November (14.30), Fiji on Friday 19 November (19.30) and New Zealand on 27 November at (17.15).

“We are entering into exciting times for Welsh rugby with Rugby World Cup 2011 just around the corner,” said WRU Group Chief Executive Roger Lewis, “And we are delighted that Invesco Perpetual have put their faith in the brand once more and invested for the sixth consecutive year in the game in Wales.”

Rick White, Invesco Perpetual Marketing Director, said: “Our long-term commitment to the WRU and international rugby has been of great benefit to Invesco Perpetual as a business. It is fantastic news that in our sixth year of sponsoring the Invesco Perpetual Series we have all of the Southern Hemisphere giants participating, it’s a mouth-watering prospect that I’m sure all rugby fans are looking forward to.”

The sponsorship deal was negotiated by Invesco Perpetual’s sports marketing agency Essentially and Managing Director Matthew Vandrau commented: “Rugby provides the perfect audience for Invesco Perpetual to be associating its brand with and the passion and commitment of the international teams closely mirrors the ethos of all who work for and make Invesco Perpetual one of the leading asset management businesses globally.”
