Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association (ABIT) signs up for UK Support
Good Relations, part of the Bell Pottinger Group, has been appointed by the Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association, (ABIT) to raise the profile of country’s textile production and manufacturing capabilities, promoting the Strategic Program for the Brazilian Textile Chain (Programa Texbrasil), created in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (APEX-Brasil). The appointment follows a brief to build trade and consumer demand for Brazilian clothing brands and textile industries in order to increase the exports and further international trade.
Good Relations will amplify Brazil’s expertise within the clothing sector from its self sufficiency in cotton to the strong creative and technical skills which make it among the 10 most important textile producers in the world.
The account will be headed up by Good Relation’s Senior Account Manager, Katie McConkey who says, “Brazil is already well regarded in the US for its fashion credentials. We look forward to ensuring that the UK buyers and consumers also start to recognise the country as a key player in the market”.
Good Relations will report into Rafael Cervone Netto, manager of Programa Texbrasil. “United Kingdom is a potential modern market for Brazil. We are both bold countries in terms of fashion and I hope we can start excellent business together”, says.
