A coup for Bell Pottinger Corporate & Financial (BPC&F) who won the Network Rail account following a recent six-way pitch.
The organisation, which owns the fixed assets of British Rail's former network, will use BPC&F to advise on communication with the debt market and its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, as well as provide a supporting role for other elements of its communications needs. Some of the challenges facing Network Rail are to highlight the improvements and initiatives carried out on the network, the quality and effectiveness of its management and to manage the relationship between the Government and its creditors.
Like many national railway networks, Network Rail is a debt-financed company and over the following months there will be a new round of funding talks with government and further fund raisings with institutions. With this in mind, BPC&F will highlight Network Rail’s key messages and strengths in order to place it in the most strategically advantageous position.
