Senior Hire for Newly Restructured Opinion Leader

Wednesday, 28 April 2010

Opinion Leader, part of the Research and Engagement Division of Chime Communications plc, today announced the appointment of Sinéad Jefferies as a director to lead the company’s research and insight business. Jefferies, who is currently head of Business Intelligence at Royal Mail, will join Opinion Leader in the early summer.

Crispin Beale, Chief Executive of the Research and Engagement Division of Chime, commented on the appointment, “I’m delighted that Sinéad will be joining Opinion Leader. We were looking for a dynamic senior research professional with client side expertise, good leadership qualities and solid research experience - Sinéad is all these things and more. We look forward to Sinéad helping to significantly grow and enhance the Opinion Leader business during this exciting time in our development.”

“The position at Opinion Leader was just too good to turn down“, commented Jefferies. “It is a rare and exciting opportunity, and I look forward to adding value to the business as well as strengthening Opinion Leader’s offer to its broad range of clients”.

This hire comes shortly after Beale’s appointment to Chief Executive of the Research and Engagement Division of Chime, where he also sits on the executive management board of the plc. Nick Lamb – who was previously Chairman at Facts International – was also appointed Chairman of Opinion Leader Research, CaucusWorld and Brand Democracy.

Jefferies is a classically trained market researcher and has a strong insight heritage built from a career dedicated to research. In her most recent position at Royal Mail, Jefferies headed up the research function where she was involved in leading a wide range of research projects including business and consumer satisfaction tracking, brand development, mystery shopping, and regulatory and policy research. She also worked across other key areas of the business and was involved in the development of future brand strategy for Post Office Ltd, as well as leading the programme to develop the blueprint for the planned design and layout of Post Office branches. She was also responsible for driving the influence of insight within the organisation, ensuring it has a regular place on the boardroom agenda.

Prior to her role at Royal Mail, Jefferies worked as an Insight and Brand Planner at London Underground, and preceding this was at BMRB. She is a graduate of Cambridge University, and is an active member of the MRS and a committee Member for BIG.
