Page & Moy, one of the UK’s leading escorted tour operators, is set to lead the re-birth of Escorted Tours. The operator is redeveloping its brand strategy targeting new customers with a repositioning of its product plus a new look, feel and approach to guided tours.
Page & Moy has spent the last six months carrying out extensive research with existing and potential customers to identify the barriers to and benefit of guided tours. The results are set to revolutionise the sector with tours now including freedom and flexibility that will attract new younger customers and those with an independent mind-set. The old fashioned image of ‘follow the brolly’ will be left forever.
Set up in 1961, Page & Moy’s new branding and repositioning by VCCP will specifically target personalised, authentic and enriching experiences for which research has shown that their audience desire. This is reflected in the operator launching a Wildlife & Culture brochure. The new brochure features inspiring wildlife holidays and cultural experiences to destinations including Sri Lanka, Namibia, Mexico, Borneo and New Zealand. Key guided tours will take in the “Butterfly Migration in Mexico” and the “Sea Turtles and Bear Monkeys of Sri Lanka” to the “Huskies and Northern Lights of Norway” and the “Meerkats and Mountains of South Africa.”
By moving in a new direction, the operator will challenge its audience to travel with a different attitude and really get under the skin of a new destination and allow customers to immerse themselves in a more flexible tailored holiday for individuals. For 2011 Page & Moy will offer over 1,000 main tour departures across core products which include Europe, Rail, Wildlife & Culture, Worldwide and Christmas and New Year, with a key focus on the US, Eastern Mediterranean, Latin America and the Far East. A series of original products will also be introduced throughout its entire portfolio with new itineraries for River Cruising.
The operator will continue to invest in its trusted tour guides who provide genuine experience, local knowledge and an unrelenting passion for a destination. This travel passion is shared by guests that don’t want to see world renowned sights through the window of a bus, be herded around in a large group or follow a guide with an umbrella. Page & Moy offers personalisation within their tours and treats each guest like an individual so they enjoy fresh takes on iconic sights, highlights of little known delights and take in genuine local experiences so they get to touch, feel and smell the destination by being “in front of the glass”.
Page & Moy’s 50 years’ experience offers the security that everything is taken care of by experienced tour guides that know their destinations. As part of the Page & Moy Travel Group, the company’s heritage gives guests the confidence to explore more of the world, free to enjoy the experience without worry. In addition to all the standard industry protection, guests can trust the operator to take care of the unexpected. They are also on hand to chat before, during and after every tour, making sure guests get the very best from their holiday and a main priority is getting customers home safely should any problems occur.
