Paul Scaping to join Bell Pottinger Public Affairs

Monday, 08 November 2010

Bell Pottinger Public Affairs, part of the Bell Pottinger Group, has hired Paul Scaping as a Consultant.  He will be joining BPPA on 15th November.

Paul was Vince Cable's parliamentary researcher from May 2009 to August 2010.  He co-ordinated the Liberal Democrats' budget response, advised Liberal Democrat MPs on the Finance Bill, and prepared economic policy briefing documents.  He worked alongside Vince Cable's press secretary preparing the Liberal Democrat Shadow Chancellor for the Channel Four chancellor's debate during the general election campaign.  Paul also supported Cable in his work as a member of the Future of Banking Commission, and worked in the leader's writing team during the campaign.

This past autumn, Paul has been working for the Liberal Democrat fundraising department.

Chairman of BPPA, Peter Bingle, said: “We are delighted to welcome Paul to the team.  This is a very good hire - it represents a significant strengthening of our financial services team and our Liberal Democrat capability and Paul will fit in very well with the BPPA culture.”
