Pelham Bell Pottinger, part of the Bell Pottinger Group, has been appointed by ARMZ, the mining subsidiary of Rosatom one of the world's leading nuclear corporations, to advise it on media and investor relations on the proposed $1.5bn transaction with Canadian listed Uranium One.
The deal which was passed by Uranium One shareholders last week is the first major foreign acquisition by ARMZ in its efforts to secure uranium supplies for Rosatom's ambitious plans for international nuclear power plant construction. Under the agreement ARMZ will contribute two Kazakh assets and US$610m in cash, to be paid out to shareholders in a special dividend, in exchange for a 51% stake in Uranium One. The deal is due to officially close by the end of the year.
