Resonate returned triumphant from the prestigious Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, one of only two UK agencies to win an inaugural PR Lion.
Michael Frohlich and Graham Drew collected the award on stage at the Palais des Festivals from Lord Bell on Monday night. The Lion was awarded for ‘The Beautiful Game’ for client Sportech, which won the Best Brand Launch category.
“This is the inaugural year for the lions and we really didn’t know what to expect. It is a truly international event, with the very best from around the world represented. When we heard we were shortlisted we didn’t think it could get any better, to win is a huge achievement and I am immensely proud of the work the team have done.” said Michael Frohlich, managing director of Resonate.
The Cannes Lion marks a double win for ‘Beautiful Game’, following the Media Guardian Award for ‘Best PR Campaign 2009’ earlier this year.
In its first year, the PR category received 431 entries from around the world. From a shortlist of 37, the jury chose to award 17 PR Lions.
The 56th International Advertising Festival - Cannes Lions – is being held from 21-27 June 2009. It is the largest gathering of worldwide advertising professionals and advertisers.
