RSA celebrates 300 years on global campaign through SFW

Tuesday, 18 May 2010

RSA celebrates its 300 years of underwriting progress this year with an advertising campaign created by SFW.  The campaign celebrates the achievements of the group, from the incorporation of the Sun Insurance company in 1710 to becoming the oldest general insurer in the world.

Rolling out this week, the new campaign builds on the Moving Stories campaign which launched globally last year - featuring outdoor, press and digital as well as trade advertising, it celebrates key moments and events in the company’s history.

RSA today provides insurance to over 20 million customers worldwide. And the campaign showcases the epic to everyday nature of their work. It highlights the fact that the company insured the homes of Captain James Cook and Charles Darwin, and more recently assisted in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike and the L’Aquila earthquake.

The timing of the campaign coincides with an important week for RSA which is attending the BIBA (British Insurance Brokers’ Association) conference at ExCel. As part of the campaign all media spaces at Custom House station, which serves the ExCel centre, have been taken over by RSA.

The campaign, entitled ‘Underwriting progress since 1710’ is also running in four of RSA’s key regions around the world, and features stories of local interest.

Stephens Francis Whitson was appointed to the RSA roster in 2009.
