Stuart Higgins Communications has been appointed by Media 10 as its retained PR agency to handle the PR for the Ideal Home Show, 2010.
The Ideal Home Show was acquired by Media 10 just three weeks ago from DMG Worldwide Media, the first time the show has changed hands in just over 100 years after the famous show was first launched. Stuart Higgins Communications have been quickly retained as the agency to handle PR activity, and support the overall communications strategy for the 2010 campaign.
SHC will be looking to raise the brand profile for the 2010 event, combining a strategic national campaign with a localised, print, broadcast and online approach aimed at revitalising the brand.
Within this remit, SHC will be handling all of the pre-post and at show PR for the event across the consumer, home, design and retail media, as well as handling all trade activity. SHC also act on a consultancy basis for Media 10 around across partnerships, sponsorships brokering and Media 10’S other events and publishing properties.
The 2010 event takes place across 17 days, at Earls Court from 20th March – 5th April 2010.

SHC have now been brief to devise a comprehensive PR strategy that engages with consumers across the UK, building on the heritage of the Ideal Home Show Brand, and driving visitor numbers up from 2009.
The Ideal Home Show has established itself as part of the social calendar of events and regularly attracts over 250,000 visitors every year. Previously owned by DMG World Media, it is the first time in the show’s history that ownership has changed hands.
The first ever show, then known as the ‘Ideal Home Exhibition’ was opened by the Lord Mayor of London at Olympia in 1908. It took over 3000 men a week to build the first exhibition and at a time when only 10% of the population owned their own homes.
Media 10 are one of Britain’s fastest growing events and publishing companies Media 10 - just over 100 years after the famous show was first launched.
The team at Stuart Higgins Communications will consist of Stuart Higgins, Managing Director acting as PR consultant, Alexandra Davison, Senior Account Manager overseeing the running of the account and day-to-day PR team.

Media 10 has won several prestigious exhibition industry awards and accolades, most recently: Face Fabric, was awarded ‘Exhibition Feature Area of the Year’ at the ‘Event’ awards. For grand Designs Live. Media Ten was recently cited as one of the best creative experiential event's organisers in the industry at the annual AEO Conference in Brighton this November.
