Texaco fuels future Crystal Palace stars with Campaign by VCCP

Friday, 14 August 2009

Young Crystal Palace football Stars have been given a boost as the 2009/10 season begins as the Texaco brand’s Star Rewards Crystal Palace Group Loyalty Scheme launches to benefit the Club’s youth development program with the help of VCCP.

All Eagles supporters are being invited to take part in the scheme which offers fans the opportunity to support Crystal Palace’s Academy simply by filling up at Texaco service stations.  When fans join the scheme they will be given a Crystal Palace branded membership card to use at Texaco service stations. Every time fans make a purchase and swipe their card they’ll earn Stars which will go into a group kitty. The Club can then convert the Stars into money that’ll go straight into funding the Academy programme, its players and facilities.

VCCP have created the communications for the scheme which includes mailing packs for CPFC season ticket holders & members, joint branded loyalty cards, a website that will give members and insight into what goes on at The Academy and a range of POS for in and around CPFC.

The scheme also see’s Texaco become the shirt sponsor of Crystal Palace’s under 18’s team who will be playing in the FA Premier Academy League and the FA Youth Cup throughout the season.

“This is a great way for fans to back local grassroots talent and help secure the future of Crystal Palace. Youth development is a vitally important part of the Club’s ongoing success, hence the reason that Texaco and Crystal Palace Football Club have teamed-up to create this unique Loyalty Scheme,” Mandy Hodson, Chevron’s Manager Brand, Europe, commented.

“The Eagles’ Youth Academy is renowned for its exemplary contribution to football, producing players such as Nathaniel Clyne who was named Young Player of the Year 08/09. It’s that kind of success that makes you realise how important the Eagles Youth Academy is to the Club,” she said.

Crystal Palace FC vice chairman Dominic Jordan added “We are delighted to have partnered Texaco in this exciting project and welcome them as our main sponsor for the under 18’s. With this sponsorship we have an affinity scheme where supporters can really get involved with the Academy”

Fans are set to benefit too, through monthly money-can’t-buy prizes for the individual who collects the most Stars, whilst any member will have the chance to win a quarterly prizes simply by swiping their Star Rewards card at least once. Prizes include hospitality boxes at Crystal Palace games, invitations to watch training sessions and an annual grand prize of a season ticket.
