The Department of Trade and Industry has appointed two Chime companies - The SMART Company and Good Relations – to work together developing a communications programme for its CSR Academy, an initiative to promote CSR learning and skills through the first dedicated CSR Competency Framework. .

The DTI launched the CSR Academy in 2004 as a business support initiative backed by a consortium of network organizations including Business in the Community, the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development, British Chambers of Commerce, the Association of Business Schools and AccountAbility, As a result of their combined programme of activity the CSR Academy has seen substantial interest with over 270 large companies attending Masterclasses in London, 600 small to medium size enterprises attending regional seminars and over 30 business schools committed to using the Framework as a learning tool for integrating CSR.

The brief for SMART and Good Relations will be to tell the story of the Academy’s work to date, its products, people, stakeholders and ambitions and to showcase examples of companies both large and small who have used the Framework to develop their responsible business practice.
