VCCP CREATE PRIORITY AD WITH FOO FIGHTERS

O2 is unveiling the next version of its “The Walk” advertisement, featuring legendary US rock band the Foo Fighters. The ads show artists walking towards stage moments before they step out to their excited fans.

For the first time this ad moves away from the typical back stage walk we’ve seen in previous executions. In this ad we follow Dave Grohl as he walks through his home to meet his band members in his garage. He hits the button on the garage door remote and as the door rises it is revealed that the Foo Fighters are actually on stage.
VCCP developed the campaign with media buying by Zenith Optimedia.

Tickets to the Foo Fighters gigs, at the Milton Keynes Bowl on 2 and 3 July 2011 go
on sale to O2 customers at 9am on 3 November, a whole 48 hours before they go on
general release. Fans of the platinum selling US band can send a text or register on the O2 Prioritywebsite for their chance to buy tickets before anyone else.

venues across the UK.”

Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters frontman, said: “Talking about forthcoming shows, these
things never seem real until the lights go down and you see the audiences faces for the first time. It is such an incredible feeling, I can already imagine the energy.”
