npower launches Aardman TV campaign by VCCP for boiler and central heating maintenance package

This winter sees the first TV outing for npower’s boiler and central heating maintenance package – Hometeam 50.

Continuing the highly successful association with Aardman Animation, the 30 second ad features the npower customer service character, Penny, speculating about all of the calls for boilers during a particularly cold and snowy morning.

Seated in her typically Wallace and Gromit style call-centre, the advert is punctuated by the appearance of motorised hands pulling off scarves and holding up signs with information about Hometeam 50.  A typical Aardman-style duck provides comic relief in the background, being humorously dumped on by a snowfall to create a snowman.

Created by VCCP Blue for npower, the campaign is in a 30 second format and breaks on 8th November across national television.

Marking the first time that Hometeam 50 has been featured on National television, the new campaign builds on the existing ‘Get Smart this Winter’ print campaign. There will also be radio and press running alongside the TV over the oncoming weeks.

Kevin Peake, Marketing Director at npower, commented: “Anyone’s boiler and heating could fall foul of the cold weather this Winter, with Hometeam 50 everyone can have the peace of mind that they have it all covered.

“We wanted to create the most competitive cover on the marketplace – at just £15 a month and with a market beating 50% cashback,  we’re offering unbeatable value for money.”
