Comparethemarket.com is to release the third instalment of Aleksandr Orlov’s 2010 trilogy of adverts on Sunday 1st August. The latest advert titled Streets of Ambitiousness follows two previous commercials Journey of Courageousness and Battle of Fearlessness which aired earlier this year. The new ‘mini film’ will conclude a three part Orlov family biopic which documents the humble origins of Aleksandr’s successful meerkat comparison business, comparethemeerkat.com.
The 60 second advert is set in early Russia and stars a wealth of new characters as well as Aleksandr’s regular companion, IT expert Sergei. Streets of Ambitiousness sees Aleskandr and Sergei recreate Papa Anton Orlov’s first adventures in 19th century Moscow, from offering painted portraits of meerkats in a market to the opening of his first store, comparethemeerkat.shop.
The new advert by creative agency VCCP is the latest offering from car insurance comparison site comparethemarket.com and aims to continue Aleksandr’s mission to highlight the difference between his own website comparethemeerkat.com and comparethemarket.com.
Aleksandr Orlov has become a popular icon since he was launched by comparethemarket.com in January 2009 with over 750,000 Facebook and 30,000 followers on Twitter, as well as his own cuddly toy, radio show and iphone application.
